August 8, 2007 at 6:36 p.m. EDT, Space Shuttle Endeavour lifts-off from Pad 39-A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center on an 11-day mission to the International Space Station.

Endeavour's liftoff was delayed one day due to a leaky valve in the crew cabin.

This is Endeavour's first flight since 2002. The shuttle underwent a massive overhaul and was outfitted with satellite navigation, improved main engine monitoring equipment and a new system for transferring power from the station to the shuttle. The extra power will allow the shuttle to remain docked at the space station longer and could extend the mission from 11 days to 14.
