A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launches the SXM 8 satellite for SiriusXM on June 6, 2021 at 12:26 a.m. from SLC-40, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida. The satellite will be added to SiriusXM’s fleet providing satellite radio programming to consumers across North America. SXM 8 was built by Maxar Technologies, and features a large unfurlable S-band reflector to broadcast radio signals to users on the ground.

Following separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on SpaceX droneship Just Read The Instructions stationed several hundred miles offshore in the Atlantic Ocean.
