On January 20, 2021 at 8:02 a.m. EST, SpaceX launched its 16th (17th overall) batch of Starlink satellites from Space Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on SpaceX drone ship “Just Read The Instructions” stationed several hundred miles offshore in the Atlantic Ocean.

The mission set a new record for SpaceX’s rocket reuse program. For the first time, a reusable Falcon 9 booster completed its eighth trip to space and back.
