April 18, 2017 - A United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket launches the eighth Orbital ATK Cygnus cargo ship at 11:11 a.m. EDT on the seventh operational cargo delivery flight to the International Space Station.

Cygnus, dubbed the S.S. John Glen, is named after Mercury astronaut John Glenn, the first American to orbit Earth and is carrying nearly 7,700 lbs. of food, supplies and science experiments to the station.

The rocket flies in the 401 vehicle configuration with a four-meter fairing, no solid rocket boosters and a single-engine Centaur upper stage.

Photos taken from LC-39 Observation Gantry - a distance of about 2.25 miles.
