December 7, 2016 - A United Launch Alliance Delta 4 rocket, flying in the Medium+ configuration with four solid rocket boosters, blasts off from pad 37B at 6:53 p.m. carrying a geostationary communications satellite (WGS-8).
The Air Force's eighth Wideband Global SATCOM high-capacity communications satellite will join a constellation of satellites now comprising the Defense Department's primary communications network for connectivity to forces around the world.
